February 22 marked the beginning of the Lenten Season for all of us Christians. As the practicing Catholic that I am, I attended Mass with many of my fellow co-workers. My director shared a wonderful reflection during his homily and as I listened, his words had a resounding echo in my heart as he repeated:
Repent, for I have loved too little!
The usual response after our foreheads are marked with the ashes is "Repent and believe in the Gospel." He went on to say that Lent is not about giving up something that I think I should, something that may or may not require a sacrifice on my part because at the end of the 40 days we'll go back to it without much change... Lent is so much more than that and perhaps this time because we
have loved too little we should then
love too much!
