Time Magazine Cover; what were they thinking?

As I was catching up on some blog reading earlier this morning I came across Lisa Hendey's blog (www.catholicmom.com) and her post on the very shocking cover for Time Magazine. I couldn't help but to agree with her comments. I, too, feel that their cover lost its taste as soon as they used a much older kid to pose in the picture with a young mother breastfeeding him.

Number one, most of the young breastfeeding mothers I know do not breastfeed children that old, at most until they're 18 to 24 months old if they're lucky and that is because most of the women that I know all have to return to work within 8 weeks of having given birth to their babies and that my friends makes things complicated. Not to mention that if you're going to continue breastfeeding, we do it in a very subtle way not the way the cover poses it. Anyhow, I am waiting to get a hold of the article itself but the cover sure made its headlines today -- I guess they got what they wanted!?!?

**Please note that this is just a post on the cover of the magazine not the article**
