From TED: Looks aren't everything

I came across this video clip from TED: Ideas worth spreading and I just had to subscribe to their channel because I figured, I can always learn something new from other people's perspectives and experiences. It's a gift to learn from others, isn't it? specially when it is good stuff!

I decided to post this video because I have a little girl and she has dreams and hopes and while she has not expressed the idea of becoming a model she has been approached many times about how pretty she is and how she could be an actress or a ... model and I want her to know that whatever she decides to become in the future, she is loved just the way she is and that she is my most precious gift.

At times when she is not at peace with the way her body looks, I remind her that she is only a little girl, that she will change as time passes by and that the choices she makes will always have consequences, good or bad, but she holds the key to these outcomes. I remind her to keep God in the center of heart and life and from there things will flourish because He is our father and creator and He only wants the best for all His children -- all of us!

So with this in mind, my little one, I Love You and I hope you know how beautiful you are, inside and out. It doesn't matter what others may say or think of you, what matters is what you think and make of yourself. Be proud of who you are and the goals you've accomplished for they are only the beginning; you have a long and prosperous life ahead of you -- Make a difference every day! I am blessed having you as my daughter and I love those warm hugs you give me, they make me smile!

And to all those little girls out there who may have the dream of becoming models, you are beautiful and you are unique, find your gift and remember to Be You, Always!
